For the past two years, Maia Kealoha has been riding quite the wave.After all, the 8-year-old has gone from solely dreaming of being an actress to now starring as Lilo in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch. And it's almost like she knew this was meant to be."When I was 5 years old, I entered a little pageant," Maia recalled to Entertainment Tonight in a video shared March 17. "It was called Mini Miss Kona Coffee. I love Doogie Kamealoha. So I’m like, 'I wanna be an actress when I grow up.' And then my mom’s like, 'OK, I’ll put that on the papers.' Five weeks later, there's this thing on the news [that] said, 'Here is the audition for Lilo.' I’m like, 'Yes! Yes! My dreams have come true!'"Although, it took a minute for them to actually become a reality. In fact, Maia told the outlet she had to audition 15 times before she got the part in 2023. And the moment she landed the role was one she’ll never forget.“When I came home, they’re like, 'Maia, would you like to be our Lilo?'" she added. "I was speechless, crying."
