TVB actor Andrew Chan recently gave fans a scare after sharing a series of photos from a hospital.

The 37-year-old Come Home Love: Lo and Behold  star was seen wearing a face mask, with visible rashes covering his face and hands.

"When I arrived in France, I unfortunately developed a rash after going hiking. The rash started on my palms and gradually spread to my arms, face, and eventually all over my body," he wrote.

"It even spread to my throat, causing my tongue to become swollen, making it difficult to eat and speak."

Andrew said he sought medical attention while still in France and was referred to the emergency room.

"After waiting for half a day for my blood test results, the doctors concluded that I had suffered an allergic reaction to bites from some kind of insect," he revealed.

He later visited another doctor in a different city, but received the same diagnosis.

Unfortunately, the condition persisted throughout his trip. After returning to Hong Kong, Andrew sought medical treatment once again and was admitted to hospital.

Despite the ordeal, the actor managed to keep his sense of humour.

"I'm sorry that I spent most of the trip either in clinics or hospitals, so I didn't have time to buy any souvenirs," he quipped. "If anyone asks what souvenir I got for you, my safe return is your souvenir!"

Andrew added that he will need to rest for a while, with doctors advising that the earliest he is likely to return to public appearances will be August 9.
