SUBANG JAYA: A helicopter has caught fire at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

When contacted, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said that the fire extinguishing works were still being conducted. 

“The operations commander reported that the helicopter was completely burnt. It is believed that the fire occurred during an engine test after repair works while taking off. 

“Four victims managed to save themselves after the fire occurred,” he said. 

Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Capt Norazman Mahmud confirmed the incident. 

"A statement will be issued soon," he said when contacted.
