PETALING JAYA: Malaysia made an embarrassing start to their campaign in the boys’ Under-18 Asia Cup hockey after they were beaten 2-4 by minnows Bangladesh in a Group B match in Kakamigahara in Japan.

Malaysia had defeated Bangladesh 5-2 to finish third in the tournament in Dazhou, China, last year but could not repeat that performance this time.
