HONG KONG — The deadliest fire in Hong Kong in 77 years has galvanised the city’s society as Hong Kongers from all walks of life came out in full force on Nov 27 to provide help to those affected.

Outside the Rainbow BBQ Store at the Tai Po Market, volunteers had gathered to contribute donations of all sorts ranging from cartons of mineral water to bunches of bananas, bags of warm clothes, boxes of masks and even packets of disposable underwear.
