Lauren Sanchez’s wedding dress just gave fans a glimpse into who her style inspiration is, and it’s an old-Hollywood celebrity whom she’s dressed like before. (If you guessed Sophia Loren, then you’d be correct!)

While Sánchez has donned a lot of looks already for the wedding weekend with Jeff Bezos, her main wedding dress, also known as the viral one she wore for the ceremony, was a cinched, lace Dolce & Gabbana wedding gown.

Now, not only was it inspired by Loren, but as you can see in the Vogue update, it was actually inspired by a wedding dress she wore in the 1958 film, Houseboat. The film was directed by Melville Shavelson, starring Loren and Cary Grant. It’s about a widowed lawyer, his children, and their new nanny moving onto a houseboat.

And in the film, Loren dons a tea-length dress, with a fitted bodice and layered tulle and lace fabric. It’s seemingly made by the designer of a lot of the film’s looks, Edith Head. As you can see in the photos above, Sanchez took inspiration from it, with the cinched waist, the high neckline, and the lace detailing throughout.

And this isn’t the first time Sanchez has taken inspiration from Loren.

At the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, unofficially known as the “Oscars for scientists,” Sánchez donned a silky red John Galliano slip dress, which Loren once wore.

Sánchez even wrote about the dress on her Instagram, writing, “I wore a little piece of history. This 1994 John Galliano dress was once worn by the legendary Sophia Loren — an icon of strength and timeless beauty. I was proud to give it a second life on a night all about pushing boundaries and honoring brilliance.”

So it’s clear Loren is Sanchez’s style inspo, including when it comes to her big day.
