Russell T. Davies’ highly anticipated series It’s a Sin arrives in its entirety on HBO Max today. (Meaning, yep, you can binge all five parts if you have an HBO Max subscription.) The show, made by the Queer As Folk creator, follows three young gay men as they explore London in 1981, right as the AIDS epidemic hits.

Davies drew on his own coming-of-age London experience to create this show, which oscillates between joy and despair, showing how many lives were cut short. It follows Ritchie (Olly Alexander), Roscoe (Omari Douglas), and Colin (Callum Scott Howells), who have just moved to London and share a flat together. As they learn more about themselves and explore their sexuality, their lives are forever changed by an epidemic that the world chooses to ignore.
