Hyundai Motor Group is increasing its focus on electric vehicle (EV) research at its Namyang R&D Center in South Korea.

This facility plays a vital role in developing vehicles for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.

The facility, established in 1996, is central to innovation in EVs and helped drive a 17% year-over-year increase in EV sales from January to May 2025.

The Namyang R&D Center is equipped with advanced tools for EV testing.

It features a building dedicated to aerodynamics testing, which includes a wind tunnel capable of producing winds up to 200 kilometers per hour.

This facility, along with ground simulation systems and precision tools, optimizes aerodynamic performance.

The center also houses an environmental lab that simulates extreme temperatures to test battery and thermal system durability.
