Ian Fang Wooed 15-Yr-Old By Buying Her Bubble Tea, Tattooing Her Lip Print On Shoulder
The mother of the girl, whom former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang, 35, had sex with when she was a minor, has revealed how he wooed her daughter.
Ian was sentenced to 40 months' jail for sexual offences involving a then 15-year-old minor. He will begin serving his sentence on June 16.
In an interview with 8world, the girl's mum said she and her daughter got to know Ian at the same entertainment event last year.
He was then an acting teacher with a child modelling school.
She and her husband considered Ian their friend and when she found out about her daughter’s relationship with him, she was very shocked.
“It was as if the sky had fallen,” she said.
When she asked her daughter why she got involved with Ian, the girl told her that Ian would willingly “run two streets just to buy bubble tea for her”.
After school, he would also show up to walk her home — even if it meant walking for an hour and a half to two hours.
He was always there for her. The girl described the feeling as a "crush," like the flutter of a first love.
Ian also had a way with girls.
To make her happy, he got the girl make a red smooch print and had it tattooed on his shoulder.
The mum said she only found out about the tattoo after Ian posted a snap of it on his socials in September, seemingly to get the girl's attention after he was arrested and released on bail.
“Tears fall before words can be spoken,” he wrote in the caption.
“My daughter told me it was trendy at the time to kiss a white T-shirt with lipstick, and he took her lip print and got it tattooed on his shoulder,” said the mum.
She believed Ian was pretending to be pitiful and heartbroken to gain sympathy when he posted the pic.
And when Ian took her daughter out, he would never appear in public with her openly.
He would appear low-key, like a celebrity, to avoid being recognised.
“My daughter said every time they went out, he made her wear a mask and sunglasses, which made her feel glamorous, like a star being followed by paparazzi,” the mother said.
Even more, Ian’s “celebrity persona” extended to dining out — he would take her to places where he received free meals.
“People recognised him and said he didn’t need to pay. My daughter thought he was a real celebrity because he never had to pay for food.”
According to the mother, when Ian was pursuing her daughter, he often bragged about his fame, saying fans adored him and frequently gave him gifts. Many of his household items and clothes, he claimed, were gifted by fans.
Ian’s other courting tactics included finding out what foods the girl liked, buying them frozen from the supermarket, then cooking them himself and telling her it was made especially for her.
