I think Singaporeans are a defensive lot(just like crabs- if you touch or move a stick infront of them, they immediately raise their pincers.) If you smile at them or say hello they tend to be in standby position, ready to defend themselves (stare point blank at you) instead of reciprocating your greetings.

The Education thingy is a vicious circle! 😓 I think if you ask, maybe 75% of Parents will say it is too Stressful for the kids, to have so much work and CCA (not only in School but after as well... Piano, Swimming, Abacus etc.) + Tuition! If you ask them if their kids go to Tuition Class... 'Yes, of course'.. if not, they will Fail! 😏
