If You Sleep Hot, You Could Use These 30 Products This Summer

BuzzFeed-Shopping·2025-06-15 05:04

1. An oscillating tower fan to help the air flow without REALLY jacking up your energy bill. It's a bladeless fan that works quietly with six speed options and a remote you can park on your nightstand in case you get a little too cold at night (what a great problem to have).

www.amazon.com

Promising review: "GO BUY THIS NOWWWWW!!! My room has been hot for over FIVE months now with no AC. Especially now with summer, I almost feel like I want to pass out. I’m so glad I got this. It’s been two hours now since we got it in the mail and our room has completely turned around from hot to freezing cold. I can’t believe I’m saying this. I have purchased over three fans the past few months and this one tops it all." —Inca

Get it from Amazon for $89.99 (also available in a smart Wi-Fi version).

2. Plus, a battery-operated flexible rotating fan that lots of reviewers use on strollers to keep babies cool. But! It would be great to wrap around your bed frame on your side if you're the hot sleeper and your partner isn't.

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com

Promising review: "It’s right by my head when I’m sleeping because the sound soothes me, and most people sleep better when their heads are cool. The flexible legs are fantastic and enable it to be put almost anywhere at almost any position. It does tend to have some fluctuation in the sound of the motor, but it helps me go to sleep so quickly that I don’t know if that lasts or is just at the beginning. If something happened to this one, I would definitely replace it with an identical one." —Midwest

Get it from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in three colors).

3. A cooling mattress pad reviewers rave about because it's truly awful to get ready for bed and then lie there, unable to sleep because you're too hot. This'll set you up for sleep success.

Amazon

Promising review: "Unbeknownst to me, my wife decided to replace our mattress with the hardest slab of concrete on which I've ever had to sleep. I ordered this cover, hoping for a tiny bit of relief. From the first night it exceeded all my hopes and dreams, I could sleep again, it doesn't slip off even with my tossing and turning, and it stays cool. This mattress cover probably saved my marriage. Thank you!" —michael ervin

Get it from Amazon for $28.82+(available in sizes Twin–California King).

4. A silk pillowcase that'll have a soothing, cooling effect. But! These'll stick around in your bedding mix during cold weather, too, because silk doesn't suck moisture from your hair and skin like cotton pillowcases do.

Amazon

Promising review: "I'm not one to usually write reviews, but I LOVE this pillowcase. It's easy to clean and it has helped my acne so much. Cloth pillowcases absorb oil and bacteria, this one has been helpful in controlling breakouts as well as being very cooling. If you get hot at night, I definitely recommend this pillowcase. It stays cool and you don't have to keep flipping over your pillow to the cool side with this pillowcase." —Patricia Upton

Get it from Amazon for $28.99+ (available in three sizes and six colors). If you've got a tighter budget, consider the Bedsure satin pillowcases for $7.99/pair instead!

5. Or a specifically designed set of two cooling pillowcases made with Japanese cooling fibers to help absorb your body heat while you sleep.

www.amazon.com

Promising review: "Finally found pillows that are worth every penny!!! I am buying more ASAP! I have a sweating problem and also have my bedroom on the third floor of my home so the heat rises, which doesn’t help my hot flashes at all! I have a hard time finding a pillowcase that isn’t sticky feeling, too hot to lay on, etc. I really appreciate that there is a zipper on one end of each pillowcase to zip up your pillow to help your pillow inside from slipping or falling out! These pillowcases are cool to the touch, super soft, and they are super comfortable to lay on, to the point I woke up with drool all over my face from my remarkable amount of great sleep I had! This pillowcase doesn’t get that overwhelming warm sticky feeling after laying on it for a while. It stays comfortable to lay on all through the night! I’m incredibly happy and grateful to finally find pillowcases that are exactly what anyone with sweating issues and hot flashes need and want in pillowcases." —CosmeticatedReviews

Get them from Amazon for $15.95+ (available in standard, queen, and king sizes and in 20 colors).

Amazon, www.amazon.com

This stuff is STRONG so make sure you do a spot test first — especially if you have sensitive skin.

Promising review: "For anyone who might be skeptical, please allow me to put you at ease. If you have hyperhidrosis, meaning it can be 9 degrees outside and you're still sweating under your arms, this product has the potential to change your life. I would sweat THROUGH a sport coat before noon. Enter the Sweat Block product. I've had it for three weeks and it is life changing. I DO NOT sweat under my arms anymore. I'm still on the original box that I bought three weeks ago. I had to write a review after I was cleaning the garage today in 85-degree heat. I was sweating through my shirt on my back — BUT NOT MY UNDERARMS. It is amazing!" —Frosty McGee

7. An ultra-fine continuous water mister will refresh your hair in the morning after you've slept on it. Let's keep that air-dry style looking fresh instead of using more time, water, and hair products on a whole wash!

Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in four sizes).

8. A set of two cooling pillows that are hotel quality. I'm a hot sleeper and swear by these year-round. They're also INCREDIBLY comfy and supportive thanks to the gel fiber filling.

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com

Promising review: "These had great reviews but I was still a bit skeptical. I'm a bit of a pillow snob. I usually require about three pillows for just myself, not including my husband. I like to sleep propped up a bit so my sinuses don't get stopped up at night. My old pillows would require three to nine adjustments a night for me to be comfortable again. These pillows — these amazing, heavenly pillows — are now my favorite part of going to bed. Soft but firm. How does that work? It gives support for me to sleep slightly propped up but I sink into this comfortable personal cloud. Soft, but firm. My head isn't sinking through the pillow to rest on my mattress, but I feel comfortably enveloped. Now mind you, I have one very cheap Walmart pillow behind it so I'm not against my headboard, but even still. Heaven. I bought two but think that would be too much fluff so now my husband and I each have one. Buy them. Add to cart. Buy now with one click. Stop the research. You've found the pillows you were looking for." —Marissa Urey

Get a set of two from Amazon for $61.37+ (available in queen and king sizes).

9. Or if you're feeling a bit splurgy, a cooling pillow filled with a super squishy foam that'll provide a super cool sleep surface for at least 12 hours.

Amazon

My colleague Heather Braga uses this: "I'm personally always hot even with my air conditioning on full blast, so I was thrilled to put this cooling pillow to the test. Right out of the box it felt cool to the touch. It's very plush and squishy (my son really enjoyed jumping onto it haha). It seems to mold to my head — it's extremely comfortably. Most importantly it somehow STAYS that cold at all times. It really is fabulous!"

Get it from Amazon for $134+ (available in two sizes).

10. Or a cervical pillow with breathable memory foam if you're a hot sleeper but need your head and neck cradled in a gentler way than a regular pillow. Also, it comes with an Arc-Chill pillowcase!

Amazon, www.amazon.com

It's also adjustable — if you find it too high, you can remove the memory foam piece at the bottom. If you find it too low, contact the brand and they'll provide an extra insert.

Promising review: "I know it's hard to switch from your favorite pillow, but once you switch to this product, you will not regret it. I purchased this because I was having neck pain and it did help. I then found out I had to have cervical disc replacement and have not used anything but this pillow since surgery, and it has helped me so much. By the end of the day, my neck is tired and sore, but when I lay down on this it takes all the pressure off and immediately relaxes my neck. Not to mention the cooling effect it has is wonderful. It stays cool all night long." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for$35.99

11. A set of cooling bed sheets that'll keep you from waking up all hot and sweaty. They feel super pricey but, thank goodness, aren't!

Amazon

Promising review: "I am a very hot sleeper therefore, I am very picky about my sheets. These sheets are very comfortable and do not make me hot. They are soft and very comfortable. Also, the company is great to work with! Excellent customer service! When my sheets arrived, there was a small problem with the fitted sheet so I emailed them (the sheets came with a flier with their contact info) and they sent me another fitted sheet right away. They said they are a family owned business and really want the customer to have a great experience. I was impressed with that level of service especially in this day and age! Bottom line: great sheets, excellent customer service and great price! Do not hesitate to buy!" —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $27.99+ (available in twin–split king sizes and 45 colors).

12. Or if you've got a DEEP mattress, some ultra-soft deep pocket fitted sheets made to be super breathable.

Amazon

Promising reviews: "We have slept on these sheets for a week. My husband has night sweats. He no longer wakes up soaking wet with these sheets. They are amazingly soft. They are so soft that my leggings get twisted with these more than my other sheets we’ve had previously...and that is good, because it’s a testament to the softness. I have a tendency to not make my bed, and our animals sleep on our blankets. They haven’t even wrinkled :) My husband says these are the best sheets he’s slept on in his life, and he grew up with a mom that always bought the expensive 'good' stuff. I highly recommend these. Bonus: Amazing price!" —Bunn Family

Get them from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in sizes twin–California king and 26 colors).

13. Or suspenders for your sheets if you already have a set of cooling sheets you like, but the issue is that the fitted sheet won't stay put on your mattress, and you end up in a sheet burrito. These are exactly how they sound, so no matter how much you toss and turn, your fitted sheet comes loose in the middle of the night.

www.amazon.com

Promising review: "These have worked great! I like bamboo sheets, which are slippery and the corners always came up. Since I started using these my corners haven’t come up and the sheet stays relatively wrinkle-free." —Beachyfun

Get them from Amazon for $13.99 (available in five colors/styles).

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com

Promising review: "I was in the habit of rolling a cold can of soda on my forehead to help with tension headaches and sinus pain but that was cumbersome and not always cold enough. It cools in the freezer fast. Two-hour freeze and putting this on is like a dive into cold water. Chilling it in the refrigerator instead of a freezer is excellent! Sleeping with it on is easy, and it doesn't shift. You get a 360 cooling effect. Yep, wipe out a headache or a hot night. Genius!" —C. A. Yeager

Get it from Amazon for $29.95 (available in three colors).

It looks like nothing, just your average silky eye mask. I put it on and it certainly didn’t feel like anything special. Ha, I ate those words. I don’t know what kind of black magic they’re using in the manufacturing process (especially with these supply chain issues), but I actually can’t be without it now. It fully covers my eyes in the lightest, most comfortable way, and it doesn’t feel restrictive at all. Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, there were three nights in a row that I slept 9+ HOURS !!! I mean, this is not a drill. My husband thought something was wrong with me. Bottom line, I’m getting some of the best sleep I’ve gotten since before the pandemic. Do your battle-tattered body a favor and get one of these." —Ruth

www.amazon.com

Promising review: "I’ve used this product for over two years now and will always be a repeat customer. And no, this is not a paid advertisement. Just a very happy customer! When you spray it on, it's more likely to look stark white (don't freak out about it like I did!), but you simply rub it in like you would a normal dry shampoo before you hit the hay. Waking up with de-greased roots definitely gives me a head start on trying to pull myself together these days when, tbh, I'm only (regular) washing my hair once a week. Because this stuff is so potent though, you should really only use it before bedtime. If you're curious about their regular dry shampoos, they're great!

Get it from Walmart for $12.99+ (available in three scents).

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com

Promising review: "So easy to set up! All you do is peel tape and adhere to a CLEAN and DRY door. Also looks great, I don't even notice it. I had a huge gap under my door. I could smell and hear everything from the hallway. Smells, drafts, and sound all are less of an issue now." —Brit B.

Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in four colors).

26. And if the top and sides of your door seem to be letting precious cool air escape, an insulating strip involves basically a foolproof installation. It just sticks!

www.amazon.com

It *also* keeps cool air in your room!

Promising review: "Product works really well! I needed a quick fix to my home office situation, I live in an apartment in Manhattan and never noticed how much sound comes in and out, until I had to be on conference calls working from home! This little tape made a big difference, took me a couple of minutes to install." —Sandra Revueltas

Promising review: "This blanket is wonderful! I was always curious to try a weighted blanket but was skeptical if they actually worked. After reading reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. I am so glad I did. I was having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. After receiving this blanket, my sleep has improved dramatically and I stay asleep most of the night. I like the option of having the cooling duvet and the warmer one. I am a hot sleeper so I stick with the cool one. The only downside to the blanket is changing the duvets you have to tie countless pieces together for it to stay in place but other than that this blanket is sooo worth it!!" —Emma

Get it from Amazon for $42.99+ (available in 14 sizes and six colors).

28. But if you're still feeling "ehh" about a weighted blanket, a temperature-regulating, cocoon-like sleep pod could be a great comfy option to help lull you to sleep with minimal fabric covering your body. I've tried it myself, and it's SOOOO stretchy.

Sleep Pod

Promising review: "The Sleep Pod is absolutely amazing. I am 41 and have had sleep maintenance insomnia for most of my life. If you don't know what that is I fall asleep fine but don't stay asleep. I'd wake up between four and eight times a night and sometimes only sleep two hrs and that'd be it. I have used the hug sleep for a week and have slept between seven and nine hours only waking up once. It's comfortable not too warm and the pressure it applies is comforting not restricting. I have recommended to everyone." —Amy Archambault

Get it from Sleep Pod for $87.99 (available in sizes S–L; also available in a hooded version).

Promising review: "I was wary of this as it’s a bit pricey compared to other 'solutions' for being hot at night. Having said that, I don’t regret spending one penny of what it cost me. I now sleep and I never wake up hot which I was doing constantly before having this. My advice to any woman of a certain age who suffers at night with heat, or indeed anyone who is hotter at night, buy it and you won’t regret it!!" —Tracey
