1. A stud finder to make hanging a poster or installing some shelves way, way easier. This finder is magnetic, so when it locates a stud, it sticks to the wall, giving you a clear and exact idea of the spot you should steer clear of. Plus, once it finds a stud, it stays in place — so you can just leave it there and go pick up your hammer, nail, or drill, without having to make a little pencil mark first. "The fewer pencil marks, the better" — my motto, in both home repair and life in general.

Walmart

Obvs, this will only work with metal studs, not wooden ones.

Promising review: "This was just what I needed. No need to comb through the $20 stud finders, this tool makes finding the stud so much easier by identifying the metal pieces, i.e., nails and screws that are in the studs. It worked like a charm. Who knew all you needed was a strong magnet to find the wall studs?" —Shanell

Price: $9.97

2. A HEPA air purifier that captures dust, smoke, pollen, and other allergens in an up to 361-square-foot area — and looks sleek and unobtrusive while it gets to work. The purifier's four-stage filtration system is great for folks with allergies, those who live in areas with wildfires, or people who would just like to get that "roasted salmon smell" out of their kitchen quickly after dinner.

Walmart

Promising review: "Love this. We run it at full power while cooking and all the smell gets sucked away. It's removed the smell from the smelly shoes in the mudroom and the sound is barely noticeable in eco. Lightweight enough to move from room to room if needed." —andrew

Price: $229.99

3. And a pet hair remover set, because maybe your allergy issues have to do with precious lil' Fluffy's ability to seemingly shed every hair on her entire body every 24 hours. These removers work on cloth, carpet and wood, so no matter where fur is piling up in your home, you can finally do something about it. And forget about the annoying sticky-tape pet hair remover you used to use (you know, the one that never really worked) — these are reusable, and the big remover pushes hair into a storage compartment, which can later be emptied.

Walmart

This comes with the pictured remover, plus a rubber-tipped comb-style remover to coax hair out of corners and crevices.

Promising review: "I bought this because obviously, I have a cat. Love my cat, but she sleeps in the crook of my arm at night, and I have cat hair up my nose and everywhere else. These two removers work wonderfully on the job they're supposed to perform. I love the mini detailer, which is a breeze to use and is very effective at every task it tackles. Wish I had bought them 50 years ago. Excellent purchase." —James

Price: $11.99

The ottoman contains a little more than a square foot of storage space, so it won't take up a lot of room — and it'll look like you have even *more* space, once you get all those weird throw pillows stored away inside it.

Walmart

This ottoman has so many uses; it is actually comfortable to sit on as a chair, it makes a great side table, and it also has a nice-sized storage area. The storage area will hold two large blankets or a pillow and a blanket, books, board games, it is great. This is perfect for an entryway, living room, bedroom, or play area. This storage container's wheels make moving it easy, and its included scoop locks into its lid, so it never gets misplaced — or trapped under several inches of kibble. Just roll it to where you need it, scoop out their portion, and voila — dinner is served!

I use it for flour and since I'm not worried about it sitting in it for a long time (we bake a lot), I'm fine without an airtight seal and prefer it. Some seals are so tight it's hard to get the lid off. Or they become warped if washed in the dishwasher. I also like that this has no plastic!" —Nell

Most of all, these are long enough to actually add to the store list throughout the week. I'm not a big fan of the colors and designs used, as they don't match my Coca-Cola kitchen, but that's trivial compared to their sturdiness and longevity. I definitely recommend this product!" —Hope
