Indian media tech startup Mythik raises $15m seed funding

Jason Kothari’s newly launched company, Mythik, has raised US$15 million in seed funding.

The company states that this is the largest seed round in India’s media technology sector to date.

Mythik plans to share Eastern mythology, history, and folktales with a global audience.

It aims to use technology to enhance storytelling.

The company estimates that these ancient narratives could reach an audience of 3.5 billion people worldwide.

The funding round included a variety of investors. Notable participants include India’s Sakal Media Group, BITKRAFT Ventures, VC Grid supported by Venture Catalysts, Visceral Capital, and Shah Rukh Khan’s family office.

Other significant investors are the Patni Family Office, Polygon co-founder Jaynti Kanani, and His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash.
