The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has expressed its commitment to address the concerns raised by online motorcycle taxi (ojek online) drivers during a demonstration on May 20, 2025.
Inspector General Aan Suhana, the Director General of Land Transportation, confirmed that the ministry has acknowledged the drivers’ concerns and will take action.
A primary demand from the drivers is a revision of Minister of Transportation Decree No. 1001 of 2022, which regulates service fees for motorbike services accessed via applications.
The drivers are requesting a reduction in the maximum commission taken by app operators from 20% to 10%.
Aan said that the ministry will consider this demand, citing various factors that must be assessed.
