An insider is setting the record straight on Dermot Mulroney‘s financial situation after he requested spousal support in his divorce from Prima Apollinaare.

The 61-year-old actor filed for divorce from Apollinaare in a June 21 petition, requesting to dissolve their 15-year marriage. Mulroney cited reconcilable differences and listed their date of separation as “TBD.” Mulroney requested to terminate the court’s ability to award Apollinaare spousal support, but requested spousal support for himself.

After the filing, Mulroney’s request for spousal support from his musician wife made headlines. However, an insider is setting the record straight on the move to People, insisting that Mulroney and Apollinaare won’t be battling over their finances. “No one is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything. They are not arguing over the children nor money,” the source said.“They used mediators, not lawyers, as they are friends and this is amicable,” the insider added. “They were advised to file this way.”

The Chicago Fire star has a reported net worth of $2 million. Apolinaare’s net worth is unclear. Other details in the My Best Friend’s Wedding actor’s filing suggest he’s looking for a fair divorce. He asked that attorneys’ fees be split between him and Apollinaare, and requested that they share joint physical and legal custody of their two daughters: Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15.

In his filing, Mulroney stated that “all community earnings and accumulation during marriage through the date of separation” will be considered community property. 

Mulroney and Apollinaare started dating in 2008, a year after his divorce from actress Catherine Keener, with whom he shares a son. They tied the knot in 2010, after welcoming their daughters.

Apollinaare is an Italian-born singer-songwriter who changed her name from Tharita Cutulle for unknown reasons in 2015.
