Born amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Cherki is a casual gastro-pub representing the aspects of Singapore to be proud of. The multi-racial, multi-cultural society has its roots in history.

Singapore is one of the essential ports of call along the Silk Road, attracting immigrants from all parts of Asia in search of better prospects. The streams of cultures that rushed in melded together to form the Singapore that we know today. One of the cultures that emerged was the Peranakans, whose craftsmanship and culinary skills were top-notch. However, their labour-intensive ways and heritage-based teachings have recently declined with globalisation and the internet.
