Filippo Inzaghi has left his role as Pisa manager by mutual consent, the Serie A club said on Friday, with the coach moving on just weeks after leading the Tuscan side to promotion from Italy's second tier.
Inzaghi, older brother of Simone who recently left Inter Milan to manage Saudi club Al-Hilal, took Pisa back to the top flight after an absence of 34 years in his first season at the club.
The 51-year-old former Italy striker began his managerial career at AC Milan where he ended his playing days, taking charge at the San Siro for one season before earning promotion from the third tier with Venezia.
Inzaghi, who also brought Benevento up to Serie A, is now widely expected to become manager of Serie B club Palermo, according to Italian media reports. REUTERS
