Avril Lavigne and A-Mei are names we never thought we would see in a story together, yet the universe always has a way to surprise us.

Recently, a netizen took to Threads to share a video of the 40-year-old Canadian pop princess performing at a gig.

The caption read: "When you go to an Avril Lavigne concert but your earphones are playing A-Mei's songs" and the Taiwanese pop diva's 2006 hit 'I Want Happiness' is set as the background music.

What did he mean by that?

Well, to the OP Avril and A-Mei, 52, are basically doppelgangers, especially during the latter's 2009 'Amit' era, when she spotted similar long locks and gothic make-up. 

"They're like cloned sisters. Looking forward to Avril and A-Mei collaborating one day," wrote another netizen singing the same tune. 

One even quipped that they had "never seen Avril and A-Mei appear at the same time," alluding that the two stars could actually be the same person. 

To be honest, this writer also had to double confirm with her editor that it was actually Avril and not A-Mei in the video.
