Singapore’s art scene gets a flavorful new addition this July as Heartware Store & Gallery welcomes Japanese artist maitoparta for their highly anticipated solo exhibition, Itadakimasu! This marks maitoparta’s first showcase in Singapore—an offbeat and joyful celebration of all things food and fun, running from 18 July to 31 August 2025 at 350B Joo Chiat Road.

A Playful Tribute to Japan’s Food Culture

Known for whimsical creations that radiate charm and light-heartedness, maitoparta brings an all-new collection crafted especially for the exhibition. Expect a delightful cast of characters—from wide-eyed ikura to cheeky edamame and animated everyday utensils—all reflecting the artist’s signature quirky aesthetic.

At its core, Itadakimasu! is a love letter to the Japanese way of dining, turning familiar food items into endearing art pieces that capture joy, nostalgia, and whimsy in every detail.

Exhibition Exclusives and Omakase Art

Beyond the main display, visitors will also find a range of exhibition-exclusive merchandise, including original artworks, limited-edition prints, postcards, plushies, apparel, bag charms, and more—each infused with maitoparta’s signature playful spirit.

The highlight? Omakase sessions on 19 and 20 July. These intimate, one-on-one commissions offer a rare chance to receive a custom “sushi” artwork, drawn live by maitoparta and served fresh. Spaces are very limited, making early interest essential.
