KUALA LUMPUR: The family of Ivana Esther Robert Smit said they were relieved after the High Court affirmed their long-standing claims over lapses in the investigation into the Dutch model's death.

In a statement released by the family's lawyer Datuk Sankara Nair, Ivana's parents, Christina and Marcel, said they were heartened that the court acknowledged what they described as "tremendous errors" in how authorities had handled the case.

"The money awarded is of no consequence."
