JJ LIN MISTOOK FAN’S CARTIER RING AS A GIFT, SHE ONLY WANTED HIM TO TOUCH IT AS A “BLESSING”
Singaporean singer JJ Lin recently held a concert performance in Seattle, Washington, as part of his JJ20 World Tour on 11 February.
Sin Chew Daily reported that one of the fans held up a Cartier ring to Lin as he was singing, and he then took the ring from the fan, thinking that it was a gift for him.
However, the fan had only wanted him to touch it as a form of “blessing”.
The fan took to the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu to share about the incident, saying that she had bought the ring in Las Vegas a day before Lin’s concert in Seattle.
She believed that the ring was her lucky ring as she managed to get her hands on tickets to Lin’s concert after buying it, and wanted to get Lin to “bless” the ring further by touching it.
Lin mistook the fan’s intentions and mistook the ring as a gift, keeping it for himself and shaking hands with her to thank her.
Although the ring was expensive, the fan didn’t appear to be too upset by the incident and even said that she had a hearty laugh about it.
However, her post rubbed some of Lin’s more ardent and hardcore fans the wrong way, with some calling her out for trying to make Lin look bad.
She also shared that Lin’s team has since reached out to her to return the ring, and it was made clear that Lin would never take advantage of a fan and really treasures the gifts that he gets from them.
The fan added that JJ probably mistook her ring, which she held up to him, for a Valentine’s Day gift because he was too engrossed in his performance.
