Jennifer Love Hewitt fans are only just now discovering that her real-life husband Brian Hallisay played her abusive ex in Fox's procedural drama, 9-1-1.

While Brian's character Doug Kendall died in season two, he is set to make a return in Monday, March 13's episode which will see Buck, who is in an induced coma, dream of a world where he never became a firefighter - and one where, as the teaser trailer suggests, Maddie is still married to Doug.
