(CNN)Tennis legend John McEnroe has praised Emma Raducanu for her incredible triumph at this year's US Open and says he stands by the comments he made about her after her Wimbledon debut.

Raducanu upset the odds to become the first qualifier to win a grand slam during the Open era on Saturday, beating fellow teenager Leylah Fernandez in the final at Flushing Meadows.
