Josephine Teo responds to Pritam Singh's question on Government funding for SPH Media Trust
CNA·2022-02-15 20:29
The Singapore Government will set aside up to S$180 million annually over the next five years for SPH Media Trust (SMT) and its disbursement would be dependent on the specific investments the Trust makes, said Communications and Information Minister Josephine Teo in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 15). READ: https://cna.asia/3BlRFOi Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh asked how the Government would assure Singaporeans that “SMT’s content will not be tainted by allegations of political interference”. Said Mrs Teo: "Regardless of what I say, or what Mr Singh may suggest, the true test is whether the public trusts the media and how they exercise their choice on a day-to-day basis in consuming news media, when so many alternatives are available to them at zero cost.“And fortunately for us, for all of us, our local mainstream media are trusted by people and we have every reason to keep it so.”Subscribe to our channel here: https://cna.asia/youtubesub Subscribe to our news service on Telegram: https://cna.asia/telegramFollow us:CNA: https://cna.asiaCNA Lifestyle: http://www.cnalifestyle.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/channelnewsasiaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/channelnewsasiaTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/channelnewsasia

Josephine Teo kept stating $180 Million per year. Totalling to $900 Million in 5 years. Hey 3 years old kid also know the maths. What a shame!!
