Justin Lo Levels-Up with L Series
Supported by Rightway Audio Consultants; A.H.M Production Services’ newly acquired L-Acoustics L Series Makes High-Profile Arena Debut at Guangzhou Concert
Marking a significant milestone for L-Acousticsin China’s premium live sound sector, the award-winning L Series was deployed for the first time in the region by new rental partner A.H.M. (Shanghai) Production Services Co., Ltd. The system was used at Hong Kong-American singer-songwriter Justin Lo’s “Come Together” tour stop at the Guangzhou Gymnasium Arena in March, delivering a pristine audio experience to the 10,000-capacity venue.
A celebrated figure in the Chinese music industry, Justin Lo is known for his emotive storytelling and nostalgic hits that span two decades. The “Come Together” tour celebrates this musical journey, demanding a sound solution capable of balancing the artist’s lyrical intimacy with concert-level power and clarity.
A.H.M., having recently joined the L-Acoustics rental network with their acquisition of the L Series, collaborated with L-Acoustics Certified Provider Rightway Audio Consultants (RAC) to design and deploy the system. Prior to the event, A.H.M.’s engineering team completed a rigorous two-day technical training session conducted by L-Acoustics, covering everything from installation techniques to advanced operational procedures.
“As a new L Series partner, we needed to deliver exceptional results for such a prestigious artist,” said He Yaoguang, Sound Engineer and Coordinator at A.H.M. “The training program gave us complete confidence in the system’s capabilities and streamlined deployment process.”
The main system comprised three L2 over one L2D per side along with a combination of flown and ground-stacked KS28 subwoofers; complemented by side-fill hangs of two L2 over one L2D, while six Kara II units provided front-fill coverage
The arena’s acoustic challenges—particularly the need for even coverage across various seating zones—were met with the L Series’ forward-thinking mechanical and sonic architecture. The main system comprised three L2 over one L2D per side, with side-fill hangs of two L2 over one L2D, designed to ensure sonic consistency throughout the venue. Low-frequency reinforcement was achieved through a combination of flown and ground-stacked KS28 subwoofers, while six Kara II units provided front-fill coverage. All L Series enclosures were powered by LA7.16 amplified controllers.
Xuanyuan Shisong, Product Manager at RAC, noted, “Installation is remarkably rapid with the fully integrated auto-locking rigging system, which eliminates external pins and removes the need for inter-angle adjustments. The streamlined rigging design not only reduced setup time for the concert but also enhanced safety, enabling A.H.M.’s team to work with unparalleled efficiency.”
System calibration was conducted using the L-Acoustics P1 and M1 measurement systems, allowing the team to achieve optimal sound balance swiftly. “The L2 and L2D delivered exceptional consistency, making calibration incredibly straightforward,” Xuanyuan added. “The engineers appreciated a problem-free process from load-in to showtime, ultimately delivering powerful and clear arena concert sound.”
Reflecting on the deployment, He of A.H.M. stated, “The L Series embodies a design philosophy tailored to modern performance environments. A.H.M. is now positioned to propose the L Series’ award-winning benchmark of audio quality for a variety of large-scale concert productions in China.”
The Guangzhou show served as both a technical and symbolic debut for L-Acoustics’ latest innovation in a key Asian market, reaffirming the brand’s continued growth in China’s live production industry. With A.H.M. now onboard as a fully trained L Series rental partner, artists like Justin Lo can look forward to a consistently exceptional audio experience across some of the nation’s most prestigious performance venues.
