PETALING JAYA: Kelington Group Bhd

has partnered Tata Electronics to support the development of the latter’s US$11bil semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat, India.

In a statement, Kelington said the collaboration will see the group support the delivery of critical infrastructure and systems required for semiconductor manufacturing at the facility.

The partnership is aimed at accelerating the fab’s operational readiness for silicon wafer production.

Kelington and Tata Electronics will also explore the development of local talent and advanced design and build engineering capabilities in India.

Kelington group chief executive officer Lim Seng Chuan said the partnership was designed to support the stringent requirements of semiconductor manufacturing.

Meanwhile, Tata Electronics chief executive officer and managing director Randhir Thakur said tool hook-up was a critical element in establishing a reliable and efficient semiconductor fab, including the integration of sophisticated equipment.
