Khalil Fong won the jury prize at Golden Melody Awards

30 June - Khalil Fong has been awarded, albeit posthumously, the GMA's Jury Award for his contribution in music.
The singer, who passed away in February this year, was nominated a total of five awards at this year's Golden Melody Awards for his final album, "The Dreamer", but did not manage to secure any accolade except for Best Composer for the song "Twenty Three".
However, he was presented with the Jury Award, which was accepted on his behalf by the members of Khalil Fong Trust.

They stated, "Khalil Fong composed the notes of love with his heart and constructed a universe of kindness. His music, his thoughts, and his belief in world harmony are like starlights guiding us. We promise to protect his spirit and make his voice not only a memory, but also a force driving the future."

On the other hand, the Best Composer award was accepted by Khalil's mixer Eric Lau and editor Jeff Li on his behalf, stating, "This album was meticulously crafted by Khalil from lyrics and composition to recording. He once told me that this album is simpler and more personal compared to his previous works."
"Even when he was unwell, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to music creation. His dedication and passion for music are truly inspiring for all musicians to learn from," they added.
Khalil's passing was announced in February this year. He was 41.
