Kuaishou shares rose 3.99% to HK$29.72 (US$3.8) at press time on October 16, after Kling AI launched a new video-generation model and media reports said the company was preparing for a Hong Kong initial public offering.

Kling AI, Kuaishou’s AI video-generation unit, said Kling 4.0 can turn text prompts of up to 8,000 tokens into native videos up to 30 seconds long.

The company also said users can combine up to 15 reference inputs in one session and extend clips to two minutes.

Media reports said Kling planned to file in early 2027 and raise at least US$1 billion, although the listing process was still at an early stage.

In August, Kuaishou said Beijing Kling had received about 1.5 billion yuan (US$229 million) from two strategic investors.

HKEX’s specialist tech framework could apply to the listing, though no route has been specified.

China also has labeling rules for AI-generated synthetic content.
