We never thought there would be a day when we would see an international superstar drinking beer at a hawker centre but here we are.  Lady Gaga, who is in town for her Mayhem concerts, was spotted at Maxwell Food Centre yesterday afternoon (May 20) living like a local.

The 39-year-old pop star, who performed two consecutive nights at the National Stadium on May 18 and 19, appeared fresh in an all-black outfit and shades.

Gaga and her posse were trying local dishes and drinking Milo Dinosaur and Tsingtao and Chang beers.

Photos and videos of Lady Gaga's outing at the popular hawker centre soon made its rounds on social media. Funnily enough, netizens on Chinese social media app Xiaohongshu were amused by Gaga's choice of Tsingtao beer. One netizen even commented: "Why didn't STB sponsor Gaga to drink Tiger Beer instead?"

Tsingtao beer, which originates from Qingdao, China, is known to be fairly affordable, and costs around S$5 for a 640ml bottle at local supermarkets.

"I can't believe Lady Gaga drinks the same beer as me?" gushed one fan, with others echoing the same sentiments. One netizen also posted a screenshot of the online store they get their Tsingtao beer from.

Others also commended the pop diva for being down-to-earth, with some guessing she might have wished to try something different during her time in Singapore.

Apart from interacting with fans who had the courage to approach her, Lady Gaga was also seen signing a fan's copy of her Mayhem album when she was leaving Maxwell.

And maybe it shows how considerate Singaporeans are, many gave Gaga her personal space, only choosing to film her from afar.

Tiger Beer... it's still not too late to shoot your shot with Gaga.
