Lady Gaga Gives Fiancé Michael Polansky Sweet Shoutout at MTV VMAS 2025

Lady Gaga is writing a good romance with Michael Polansky.

After the “Abracadabra” singer bested Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen and the Weeknd for Artist of the Year at the MTV Music Video Awards 2025, she shared a sweet message to her fiancé.

“To my partner in all things, Michael,” Gaga said on stage at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York Sept. 7. “Creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream. You have been my partner every step of the way. I dedicate this to you, too, my love.” (For every winner at the VMAs so far, see here.)

And while Gaga had to return to Madison Square Garden for her performance of The Mayhem Ball, she made sure to highlight her fans, known as Little Monsters, as she accepted the award, which she noted she “could not begin” to describe what it meant to her.

“The way you move through your life is iconic and rare,” she continued. “It is entirely yours. I dedicate this award to the audience. You very much deserve a stage to shine on and I give you all my applause. Thank you Little Monsters, my fans, for always supporting me and always supporting the monster in me.” (See here for more stars who attended the VMAs.)

Although Gaga has 19 VMAs, she detailed what it felt like to win Artist of the Year, especially in such a competitive category.

“I thought about what it means to be rewarded for being an artist, being rewarded for something that is already so rewarding,” she explained. “Being an artist is an attempt to connect the souls of people all over the world. Being an artist is a discipline, a craft meant for reaching into someone’s heart, where it grows its roots and reminding them to dream.”

Indeed, the “Poker Face” singer described how her profession feels like a “responsibility to make the audience smile, dance, cry, release at any turn.”

“It is a method of building understanding and celebrating community,” she continued. “I hope as you navigate through the Mayhem of daily life, you are reminded of the importance of your life, that you can count on yourself and your simple skills to keep you whole.”
