KLUANG: A 48-year-old divorcee and a married man were detained by enforcement officers from the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) at a house here early this morning.

The arrest took place at 1.20am following a public tip-off regarding the man's visits to the woman's residence.

According to a statement issued by JAINJ, enforcement personnel found a vehicle parked near the house before conducting further checks.

"A 59-year-old man, who is legally married, was found inside the premises. He was unable to produce any proof of a legitimate relationship between the two when questioned by officers.

"The man lives nearby, and it is believed his wife was unaware of his visit to the woman's house, possibly assuming he had gone fishing or was out with friends," the statement said.

The pair were taken to the Kluang police station for further action and are being investigated under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997.

In a separate operation in Muar, JAINJ officers arrested two men — including a senior citizen — for allegedly soliciting sex at a known prostitution den along Jalan Meriam yesterday (July 9).

The first individual, a 68-year-old married man, was caught in a room with a sex worker. The second was a 30-year-old man found in a similar situation.

"Investigations revealed that the sex workers charged as little as RM40 per session, depending on age, appearance, and body type. Prices were negotiable, with discounts offered to regular clients," the statement added.
