KUALA LUMPUR: The lawyer representing Datin Seri Pamela Ling's family has questioned the police narrative that Ling staged her disappearance, pointing out that she is a mother of three, including one with a chronic illness.

"Surely the police are aware that Ling is a mother of three, one of whom suffers from a serious medical condition requiring regular treatment, failing which it could be fatal if not treated promptly," Sangeet Kaur Deo said in a statement today.

She asked whether the police were seriously suggesting that Ling had knowingly abandoned her ill child, fully aware of the consequences.
