Lisa Riley warns Emmerdale fans of diet pill scam using her name

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has warned her fans not to engage in a particular online post with her photos included within – as she’s being targeted in a scam.

The actress, who plays Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, posted a picture of the message on her Instagram, which attempts to trick fans into purchasing weight-loss products.

‘Do not open this!’ she wrote alongside the picture.

‘I’ve been sent hundreds of messages saying they have had this sent on Instagram and Facebook, please do not open it – report it – it’s a SCAM!!! They are asking for bank details. I am so sorry I have absolutely zero control of this…just know it upsets me so much that this is STILL allowed!’.

Many of Lisa’s followers commented on the post, thanking her for raising awareness and pointing out how wrong it is that scams can be so easily created, leading to so many people falling for the false advertising.

Over in Emmerdale, Mandy is currently getting to know Sandra (Joanne Mitchell) – Liv’s (Isobel Steele), mum.

However, she remains unaware that while Sandra is working at the salon, she’s also stealing money from the tip jar – but will she soon learn the truth?
