Police investigating the death of a baby found dead in a snowy field earlier this week are still looking for the infant's mother and are still unable to tell if the baby was a boy or girl, or even their ethnicity.

The tragic tot, known only as baby A, was found by a dog walker on Ravenscraig Road, near Ashtons Field in Little Hulton, in Salford, Greater Manchester at around 1pm on Wednesday.

Officers were unable to confirm the baby's gender or ethnicity when the baby was first discovered, but now days later they are still unable to determine even how old they were when they died.
