A young child is fighting for her life after being savaged by a dog in her own home.

The little girl, who is under two, was rushed to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children following the horrific incident in Cheltenham, Glos. Cops and paramedics were called to a house in the Hatherley area of the town just before 6pm on Sunday.
