Loan shark harasses family of late Tanjong Rhu Pau founder after maid flees Singapore without repaying debt
Asia One·2023-05-02 17:00
Claiming that her father was critically ill, an Indonesian maid hurriedly returned home — leaving behind a $1,000 debt and subjecting her employers to loan shark harassment.
The maid had been hired to care for the late Mr Lee Guanghua, the founder of Tanjong Rhu Pau. Mr Lee, whose health had been deteriorating ever since contracting Covid-19 twice, died on April 23 at the age of 67 after suffering cardiac arrest.

Give the loan sharks her Indonesia address. Simple as that, if a police officer borrow from loan sharks and not pay, will they look for the police force???? Wrong business tactics correct? Want to be loan shark also have to follow unwritten laws. Not soo ka soo ka ask anyone to pay back. And to this family, S$1,000 is nothing. So reporting police is correct.

In the first place the loan shark got no right to harass the maid's employer. The maid is the one who borrowed the money and not the employer. Since they willingly loan to the maid they should know the risk. All these loan sharks deserve to be caught and punish severely.
