Loh’s ex-husband charged with causing her grievous hurt

Loh Siew Hong and Muhammad Nagahswaran Muniandy divorced in 2021.
PETALING JAYA: The former husband of Loh Siew Hong has been charged in the Sungai Petani sessions court with causing her grievous hurt four years ago.
Muhammad Nagahswaran Muniandy is alleged to have committed the offence at a house in Taman Ria, Sungai Petani in Kedah at about 12pm on March 3, 2019.
He was charged for domestic violence under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which prescribes punishment of up to 20 years in jail and a fine or whipping.
Section 326A states that any person found guilty of committing the offence on his spouse during the subsistence of their marriage shall be punished with imprisonment for up to twice the term prescribed for under Section 326.
Muhammad, represented by lawyer Naim, claimed trial before sessions court judge Roslan Hamid.
The judge imposed bail of RM10,000 and also ordered the accused to refrain from approaching Loh or any other witnesses pending the disposal of the case.
