MCMC calls up man claiming to be pathologist who conducted Zara Qairina's autopsy

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has identified the individual behind who claimed on TikTok that he was a pathologist and involved in the post-mortem examination of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
MCMC said the Health Ministry confirmed that the suspect was not a pathologist.
"The individual was located near Kota Damansara late Monday (Aug 18) night based on information from two people who joined a TikTok Live session.
"The suspect was then taken to the Dang Wangi police headquarters to have his statement recorded and his communication devices were also seized for further investigation and analysis," MCMC said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 19).
The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
If convicted, the offender may face a maximum fine of RM500,000, up to two years' imprisonment, or both.
Police are also investigating the case under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for circulating statements with the intent to cause fear or alarm to the public. – Bernama
