PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is in the process of taking action against a private Facebook group that posts photos of young schoolgirls in baju kurung uniform.

Replying to a post on X, also formerly known as Twitter, the commission wrote:

"MCMC takes note of (this matter) and is in the process of taking action."

It also thanked X user zrnh@ZareenH_s for highlighting the Facebook group.

The user had earlier posted a photo of Facebook page onto the MCMC's official X account asking how the group had lasted for three years, and has over 6,000 members.

"Please find and punish the admin of this page," said the user, who also tagged Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and the MCMC.

The private Facebook group has around 6,100 members.

The group was created on May 2, 2021.
