PONTIAN: The Marine Operations Force (MOF) here seized cigarettes valued at RM52 million – the largest seizure to date when they foiled an attempt to smuggle in the contraband on Monday night.

Federal Department of Internal Security and Public Order director Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said a team from the Region 2 MOF stopped a cargo ship about 2.9 nautical miles southwest of Pulau Kukup at 8.15pm on Monday.
