What would you do?

Mom has been trying to sell the family house to me to make a profit. I kept her telling no but she keeps pushing and coming up with tactics and excuses to guilt trip me to get what she wants. The latest proposal was to share the purchase of the house with my brother.

Reasons why i refused:

– The family house i’m currently living in with them is free from instalments, covered by insurance due my father’s passing decades ago. A roof over our heads for life without worry.

– Mom is greedy, super demanding and controlling. Nothing she receives is ever enough. Even if the house was sold to me, i would never have full control of it nor would i have a voice.

– She tries to sell to me as it would be more convenient compared to selling to outsiders as she would not have to clean or touch up the house for potential buyers.

– I’ve sworn off sharing anything with my brother as he is unreliable and a mommy’s boy. He does whatever he pleases and mom always defends his actions even if its wrong. Two heads against one. My opinions don’t matter.

– I have no interest in the share of money she would make out of the sale of this house.

– I can’t afford to buy a 600k-700k home

– I have my own future plans
