Malaysiakini CEO Premesh Chandran to step down

PETALING JAYA: Malaysiakini co-founder and chief executive officer Premesh Chandran will step down from his executive positions at the end of this month.
Premesh has served the online news portal for over 22 years.
“We have a very experienced and capable team. I am confident they will take Malaysiakini to the next level,” he said in a report by the news portal today.
His departure will see changes in the directorship of Malaysiakini and its subsidiaries.
Editor-in-chief Steven Gan is set to take over as managing director of Mkini Group Sdn Bhd, with general manager K Manohar replacing Premesh at board level for Malaysiakini’s publishing companies.
Premesh extended his appreciation to his team for their contributions and sacrifices.
“Everybody has made sacrifices and given their best to build something great together. I give my sincere thanks and appreciation to each one of you,” he said.
