Manchester Uniteds hope of signing Eduardo Camavinga this summer appear to be receding after a report on Friday claimed he is unlikely to leave Rennes. The Red Devils are known to be in the market for a new defensive midfielder to put pressure on Fred and Scott McTominay. They have been linked with Camavinga for some time but are not the only club to have shown an interest. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be keen on the 18-year-old.But Uniteds link seemed the strongest, with doubts over Paul Pogbas future at Old Trafford. However, it emerged last month that the youngster favours a move to Spain. That put the brakes on Uniteds hopes of luring the France international to the Theatre of Dreams. But on Friday, Football Insider reported that the players agent would like to bring him to Manchester United. It was also mentioned that the Angola-born ace has his sights set on PSG. Football Insider are now carrying a report that says at the moment, its unlikely that Camavinga will leave Rennes during the current transfer window. There seems a great deal of confusion over Camavingas future. But one thing that is for certain is he will fall out of contract next summer. That means a potential exit for nothing; a scenario his current employers will not want to happen. It may be just brinkmanship from Rennes as they look for the best deal possible for the teenager. The fact that top clubs such as United and PSG are vying for Camavinga prove what a talent he is. Despite his tender years the schemer has made 67 Ligue 1 appearances. He has also been capped three times by Les Bleus and has scored his first international goal. It remains to be seen whether he does change clubs this summer. But Rennes manager Bruno Genesio feels he has an important decision to make for his future but hasnt made that decision yet.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already spent big on the acquisition of Jadon Sancho. But he is not ruling out further additions to his squad.Anything from now is a bonus, he replied when asked about further signings before the deadline. I have to say that with the two signings weve got, weve strengthened where we wanted to strengthen.Lets see what happens. You never know in football. Anything can happen, ins and outs.READ MORE: Man Utd preference over Varane detail signals current stars time is up
