Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward says the club are ‘more confident than ever’ of securing silverware after strengthening the squad with major investment across a busy summer.

The Red Devils spent in excess of £130million on superstar trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane before the transfer deadline, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to make up ground on Premier League champions and fierce rivals Manchester City.
