Many young employees list saving for holidays as their top priority

Ask young workers what they are currently saving their monthly salaries for, and chances are many of them will say it is for their overseas holidays.
In a recent survey commissioned by The Straits Times on the financial habits of those 30 and under, about 57 per cent of young full-time employees said saving for travel and leisure would be their top financial goal.

How times have changed.. The mindset and mentality is so completely different from before, espècially the Boomers' (aka LKY!?) generation! It was All for a 'rainy' day back then! In case 'something' happens and Ca$h is needed! 😓 Now, it is more Enjoy first, Worry later.. 😘

Quite truth for some young couple who will rather not have children but to spend their saving on holidays frequently other than paying off the mortgage loan for their house and daily expenses

I guess this is one of the reasons for late marriages n non marriages. If a major part of their salaries were set aside for holidays, how much is left for marriages n setting up families/housing etc.? In the past era, the major considerations were marriages/families/housing, then holidays. Looks like the trend is reversing.
