Local comedian Mark Lee, 56, and his wife Catherine Ng, 52, celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on May 27 and what better way to commemorate the occasion than with some throwback pics of their special day.

Catherine took to Instagram to share a video montage featuring a wedding photo taken at the beach, and anniversary celebrations from the past. She set the video to Jay Chou’s ‘I Truly Believe’.

In the caption, she wrote: “No fancy celebrations, just real life, real love, and a journey we continue together hand in hand. Love you!”

Turns out, the couple almost forgot their anniversary as they have been busy moving house, packing, and adjusting to a new environment.

They celebrated the occasion with a simple meal out with their three kids, Calista, 16, and Maksonn, 13, and Calynn, 11.

"The most important thing isn’t how romantic the day is, but that over these 26 years, we’ve always walked together. No one is a perfect partner, but we’ve always been willing to tolerate, support, and protect each other. Life may be as plain as water, but it's also as warm as light,” wrote Catherine.

Celeb pals like Yvonne Lim, Zoe Tay and Dennis Chew flooded the comments section with anniversary wishes for the couple, and Carole Lin remarked that they both looked “sooooo adorable in the wedding pics”.

Mark once shared his secrets to a lasting marriage. He lets his wife check his phone whenever she wants in order to build trust. He also lets her control the purse strings and lets her buy whatever she wants.
