Matty Healy feared he would be sent to prison after he kissed his bandmate Ross MacDonald on stage in Malaysia and criticised the country's anti-LGBTQ laws.
The 1975 were banned from the Southeast Asian country, where same-sex activity is illegal, last month after the 34-year-old frontman protested the laws by kissing his male bassist Ross during their show at the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur on July 21.

Matty Healy if you dare do than why fear 😨.. Bring your disrespectful gay public display out of Asean countries. I challenge you to do the same in Qatar ...you will be beheaded. In your own country do what you want and if we were to go to your country we will accept that's your LGBTQI culture. But when you are in other countries...you must respect the culture of their countries too
