Meme legends behind ‘Bad Luck Brian’ and ‘Doge’ finally meet
Kabosu, the dog behind the ‘Doge’ meme, and Kyle Craven, the face behind the ‘Bad Luck Brian’ meme
There is no doubt historians in the distant future will use this photograph to explain what memes were.
For those who are not chronically online, it would be difficult to explain how much talent and fame was pictured in this room.
Please meet Kyle Craven, the face behind the ‘Bad Luck Brian’ meme, and Kabosu, the dog behind the ‘Doge’ meme.
Having them pictured together is almost like breaking the fourth wall, getting out of the Matrix or meeting your favourite cartoon characters in real life.
‘Spends all night studying, sleeps through the exam’, is just one of the unfortunate situations pictured by the meme
The infamous ‘Doge’ meme
Kyle had been travelling in Japan in May when he visited Atsuko Sato, the owner of the famous dog, resulting in this meme collaboration.
The ‘Bad Luck Brian’ meme first appeared in 2012 after a yearbook photo of Kyle went viral.
He was seen in a checkered sweater-vest, with strawberry blonde hair and braces.
It has since been used to describe a number of embarrassing incidents.
Kabosu even wore Kyle’s jumper
Meanwhile, the ‘Doge’ meme became an internet sensation a year later than ‘Bad Luck Brian’.
It is based on an old photo of the Atsuko’s dog that she posted to her blog.
It shows Kabosu with her paws crossed, side-eyeing the camera with a little smirk.

The meme is notably accompanied with captions of terse expressions and broken English such as ‘wow’, ‘so scare’ and ‘so mystery’.
The picture of the two legends was posted on Instagram, and of course, Kyle wore his unmissable jumper and blue top.
