Meta rolls out AI voice translation on Facebook, Instagram
Meta is launching an AI-powered voice translation tool for eligible Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers and all public Instagram accounts in regions where Meta AI is available.
The feature lets creators translate their voices in reels between English and Spanish, with more languages to come.
Meta says the translated audio will mimic the creator’s voice and tone, and users can enable optional lip sync to match mouth movements.
The tool supports up to two speakers per reel and works best if speakers do not talk over each other.
Creators can view translations and lip syncs before publishing, and can turn the feature off at any time.
Viewers will see a notice on translated reels, and can opt out of translated content in certain languages.
Meta also added a new metric in Insights for creators to track views by language.
The company plans to add more supported languages, but has not given a timeline.
