KUANTAN: Over 7,000 electronic payment terminals have been prepared nationwide for shoppers to utilise their RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) cash assistance using their MyKad starting tomorrow.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the number of terminals had been increased to facilitate the purchase of essential goods, compared with 4,000 terminals last month.

She said the expansion was made possible through collaboration between the Finance Ministry and Yayasan MyKasih.

"The ministry has requested the Finance Ministry and MyKasih to provide terminals for the mobile Rahmah Sales so that more people could benefit.

"I was informed that in Sabah, all Rahmah Sales outlets have been equipped with Sara terminals," she told reporters after the closing ceremony of the Madani Merdeka 2025 Community Carnival for the Kuantan parliamentary constituency at Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque in Sungai Isap here today.

Fuziah advised consumers who intend to purchase essential goods using the Sara assistance to separate them from other items to avoid delays at payment counters.

"For example, supermarkets will place the Sara label on items such as instant noodles, biscuits, and canned food. When shopping, it is best to separate Sara items from the rest (those not included under Sara) to ensure a smoother payment process.

"Based on our survey, all participating supermarkets are already prepared," she said.

The Sara assistance, announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 23, is a programme that provides RM100 assistance via MyKad for the purchase of essential goods at selected stores nationwide. The initiative will run until Dec 31.
